Plot
The lives of a realtor, a plumber and a former tennis star unexpectedly collide, exposing America’s obsession with true crime, murder and the slow-close toilet seat.
Angelenos Ava and Nathan Bartlett, a real estate agent and a tennis pro at a country club, respectively, are at a rough patch in their marriage as they expect their first child. Part of their problems are financial, and part of it emotional, much of the latter due to Nate's feeling especially that his professional life hasn't turned out as he expected or hoped in once being a ranked pro. They end up befriending Matt Pierce, a plumber they call in to install a toilet. The more time they spend with Matt, the more they begin to believe that he is who the media has coined the Westside Ripper, a serial killer. That belief not only reignites a spark in their marriage emotionally and thus sexually, but also begins the seed of an idea on how to parlay that knowledge into an economic windfall. They may forget if they set their plan in motion on a correct assumption, they are dealing with a serial killer who obviously has no issue in killing people.
