Plot

"Death is My Profession" is about the struggle of people who have to accept any work offered to survive in a neglected society.

An uncompromising depiction of poverty and the people who live on the fringes, 'Death is My Profession' follows the interwoven stories of several individuals, among them the lovelorn Ghassem, struggling father Atta and reluctant thief Shokri, as they are forced to accept any work to survive. A sombre study of desperation, of lives spent toeing the breadline and of the everyday struggles of a neglected society. Amir Hossein Saghafi's powerful drama is a cinematic tour-de-force of gritty realism and impassioned biographical storytelling. A must-see.
