Plot
The dashing tractor driver Matvey Morozov returns to his native village from places “not so remote”. And he remembers the story of his marriage, his fatal love, his failed betrayal and the “crime” he committed in the heat of the moment, for which he does not repent at all. The first guy in the village, Matvey Morozov, was a real headache for the chairman of the collective farm. True, he worked for ten people, but he was capable of all sorts of inventions. And besides, the chairman’s daughter Larisa fell in love with him. Matvey’s next trick was “racing” tractors with the production leader Zefirov, as a result of which the tractor was broken. They almost put Matvey on trial, but instead they had to celebrate his wedding with Larisa. And then rumors spread throughout the village about Matvey’s “friendship” with the new livestock specialist Tonya. Larisa was terribly jealous and decided to harass her rival. Moreover, grandmother Alevtina - a local gossip and moonshiner - added fuel to the fire by posting new information about Matvey and Tonya...
