Plot
Manya and Volodya fell in love with each other in the seventh grade of a rural school, and when the guy went into the army, the girl was waiting for him. And Volodya returned and... brought a new girlfriend to his sister’s wedding. Because of the insult, Manya, in spite of the whole world and herself, agreed to marry Alexei, a middle-aged widower with a small daughter. A hard-working and thrifty man, it seemed, could become a “stone wall” for his wife, but Mana found it difficult in the house of her husband, who tried to isolate her from life, from people. And Manya, against his will, went to the city to take entrance exams to a correspondence technical school... The plot of the film reveals deep psychological and social conflicts, immersing the viewer in an emotionally rich story.
