Plot
A man and a woman are brought together by chance for several months. He is younger than she is, married, Russian, officially a diplomat stationed in Paris. She is a beautiful teacher and researcher, with her feet firmly on the ground. The film follows the evolution of their love, from the beginning to end.
Hélène is a successful woman who works as a lecturer at the Sorbonne. A responsible mother who separated from her son's father and is raising the boy alone. But one day she meets Alexandre at a party in Porto. She spends a passionate night with him. On her return to Paris, Hélène keeps bumping into Alexandre, who works at the Russian embassy, quite by chance. An aura of mystery and emotional aloofness surrounds him. Although he is married - his wife lives in Russia - the increasingly frequent meetings develop into a passionate affair. Hélène constantly finds her thoughts wandering to Alexandre and the next meeting. Everything seems to revolve around him, even though he offers her no prospects - and the tempestuous affair develops into an obsession for the woman that puts not only herself but also her son in danger. Emotions and eroticism sweep her away until Alexandre returns to Russia for an extended period. Hélène decides to follow him.
