Plot

According to statistics, today there are about one hundred thousand veterans of the Great Patriotic War. Every day there are fewer and fewer of them, living eyewitnesses. Our children and grandchildren will know about that war only from movies and historical documents. Therefore, today, more than ever, it is important to have time to record living testimonies of living people. Andrei Zaitsev’s film “My Great War” consists of four parts - four veterans, four stories about what they experienced and what they cannot forget for six decades. Writer Viktor Astafiev said: “How many soldiers, so many wars.” Each of them has their own truth and their own war. From these stories, from these different truths, a big picture is formed, a mosaic of what that war was like. Each season of the series reveals new facets of complex human relationships, immersing the viewer in an unpredictable world of intrigue, secrets and emotional experiences. The characters develop throughout the story, facing dramatic challenges and making life-changing decisions. The high level of cinematography, well-developed script and atmosphere make this series an ideal choice for an exciting marathon of episodes.
