Plot

During a routine case in L.A., NY private investigator Harry D'Amour stumbles over members of a fanatic cult who are preparing for the resurrection of their leader Nix, a powerful magician who was killed 13 years earlier.

New York private investigator Harry D'Amour travels to Los Angeles for a routine case only to find himself ensnared in a lethal conspiracy of high-stakes illusion and genuine sorcery. After witnessing a brutal murder, he is hired by the elegant Dorothea Swann to protect her husband, a world-famous magician. When a stage trick ends in a gruesome public death, Harry uncovers a desert cult hell-bent on resurrecting their messianic leader. The line between parlor tricks and ancient evil dissolves as the city bleeds.
